FOG

200 X 240 cm. / 78.7 x 94.5 in.

Oil on canvas.

Description

Standing at 200 x 240 cm, the painting presents an isolated Self-Portrait caught in a complex composition filled with dream-like bodies.

Dynamic yet delicate, the colossal structures surround the whole canvas, occupying the front plan and breaking free from their limitations as a static background.

Using multiple charcoal and digital studies to define the concept, the artist merges this crowdedness with a familiar feeling of loneliness. Two opposing forces, destined to fight each other indefinitely, until only one will remain. So, the seed of the canvas, presented through the Self-Portrait, hides beneath a curtain of banal, altering its own pure perception and allowing the 'Fog' to devour almost everything.

Yet, regardless of the distance between the seed and the surface, the quietness still resonates throughout the loud, complex composition.
